creating community
Aftercare / alumni services

We believe that once a client enters our doors, she will always be part of the TND family. One of the best resources for our clients is other people in recovery walking alongside them. Our Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS) follow clients through all levels of care and stay connected after their time at TND through our Aftercare program.
Our CPRS team provides unmatched empathy for clients navigating the challenges of what it truly means to live lifetime recovery. This team continue to provide services, accountability for sustaining recovery, and help connect clients with a recovery community.
The CPRS team supports alumni through several outlets:
Wednesday Aftercare
The Next Door facilitates a weekly group every Wednesday from 6pm-7pm at our Nashville location (402 22nd Ave N. 37203). It is available to any previous clients of The Next Door. This weekly group is peer-facilitated, and topics are focused on service work, relapse prevention, successful transitions, and principles of the 12-step program. At this group, alumni offer support to others and gain support for themselves – creating community and fellowship. It also gives alumni a chance to come ‘home’ where the staff knows them, cares for them, and can walk alongside them.
The Next Door App
We recommend all discharging clients download our free app, where they can connect with other TND alumni, get support, celebrate milestones, and stay inspired in their recovery. This app is our own exclusive social media channel specifically for recovery-based support – allowing clients to connect with their recovery family. It also connects alumni to our CPRS team for ongoing one-on-one support, advice and encouragement.
Alumni Events
Throughout the year, our CPRS team hold numerous events specifically tailored for former clients. Alumni events are held on-site at TND and off-site throughout the Nashville community. Previous events have included bowling nights, holiday parties, yoga classes and our annual homecoming event. We also believe a beneficial part of recovery is giving back to one’s community, so our CPRS team regularly coordinate service work opportunities. Every event is meant to welcome former clients’ “home” for community, fellowship and sober fun with their TND family.
